2030 a dream?
Sometime, sometime soon, my youngest daughter goes to a year in a French university as part of her degree, travel is easy, no permits no visas, no currency hassles, her birthright as a Scottish European citizen is restored.
I have a look at my online account, my pension is in, double what it used to be and pegged to the EU average by constitution. That constitution hard won but built on the principle of fair treatment for all, we pay a little more tax, but nobody is homeless, food banks are a memory of darker days gone. There's a feeling of ease in ourselves, fear is not a motivator, replaced by creativity and optimism. We did it, we made a nation for our children to grow.
